What are the production processes of Martin boots

Dec 13, 2022

Martin boots, a kind of leather boots, were originally invented by doctors for patients to restore their injured parts. Because they are easy to wear, they have become worker boots. After young people put on their feet, combined with the chaotic 1970s, they became street shoes. And the symbol of punk too.

Martin boots are divided into three types: short boots, mid-tube boots, and long boots. Generally, mid-tube Martin boots are more common.

Main production process characteristics

The craftsmanship of Martin boots is divided into two types in China:

The first is the mechanized production process; the second is the manual production process;

False thread: The mechanized manufacturing process on the market uses a false thread round strip to stick to the upper. The disadvantage of the false thread is that it is quite weak and it will crack after wearing it for a long time.

Real thread: The real Martin boots are handcrafted. The side seams of Martin boots are sewn on the upper surface of the shoe. They are divided into three layers. The upper surface of the shoe and the middle leather interlayer fit the sole. It is hand-stitched on the leather interlayer and then fitted to the sole, so that the handcraft is strong.
