What is a shoe pattern?

Well, a shoe pattern is something that shoe manufacturers often see. It's the shape of the parts that make the shoe. So when you're doing a design, you draw the shape of the shoe. But actually, once you're going to turn the shoe design into a 3D object, you need to take these lines and create the pattern.
Let's take a look here. Okay, we remember that we have the last, right? The last is the three-dimensional shape that the shoe is made of. When you draw a pattern in 2D, the first thing to do to make a shoe is to turn it into a 3D shape. So this is the pattern. This is an example of the pattern. Again, remember, these are all five parts that eventually need to be converted back to 3D.
This is the clavicle part, but again, we also have here, you know, this shoe has a heel counter, and then it has the heel counter internal reinforcement. This is the reinforcement that's covered by the external heel counter, and it's right on the back center line. So we put the heel counter there, and then we put the heel counter cover there, okay?
The shoe has some fancy quarter panel design, so this is the quarter panel with the eyelets built in, right, it has a little collar cover panel, and it's right here. It's actually right here, making up the two top eyelet components. Right, it's right there. It's that design.
You know, I showed you this is the reinforcement for the toe. This is the covered toe section, actually, this is actually a liner, so this piece is right underneath. And then you know what you see here is just the upper, which is basically part of the liner. Right, and then you also have to have the tongue foam, and then this tongue section is the front of the tongue, and the back of the tongue is you know.
But you can see they're slightly different sizes, right, because the bone is a little bit smaller. But I guess that's your tongue section, and then this is the bottom at the end.
If you're making a stroble shoe, or this is also your insole, right? This is actually the bottom of the last. Right, so again, this is the shoe last piece. You know, this is the design of your shoe, the color texture material, and also the shape of all the individual components.
So when you start looking at a more basic classic shoe, right, it doesn't have a lot of pattern parts. Remember, you have the internal components. And then when you look at a shoe like this, you know you have the die cut components, but you also have the edges of those components that are rolled up, right? So you need to account for the edge rolling up within the pattern.
