Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. Next, we will briefly introduce:
1. Cowhide
It is divided into cattle hide and buffalo skin. Generally, the strength of cattle hide is better than that of buffalo hide. According to the age of cattle, cow leather can be divided into fetal cow leather, calf leather, medium cow leather and cow leather. Generally, the younger the age of cattle, the more expensive the leather is and the higher the grade is, but it does not mean that the higher the price is, the better the leather strength is. Generally, cow leather can be divided into two layers: the first layer is generally used to make leather shoes uppers, and the second layer is generally used to make sneakers and shoe pads. The price of first layer cowhide is much higher than that of second layer cowhide.
2. Sheepskin
It is divided into sheep skin and goat skin. Generally, goat skin is better than sheep skin in fastness, while sheep skin is better than goat skin in softness and wearing comfort. Sheepskin is generally not distinguished by the age of sheep.
3. Pig
Generally, it is less used in vamp, relatively more in children's shoes, and the price of pigskin is low. It is generally used in adult shoes to make lining. Pigskin is generally divided into the first layer and the second layer. The first layer has good strength and the second layer has poor strength, but the price of the first layer is about five times higher than that of the second layer.
4. Other animal skins
For example, crocodile skin, kangaroo skin, deer skin, lizard skin, snake skin, pearl fish skin, ostrich body skin, ostrich foot skin, frog skin. Because the above animal skin sources are scarce, the shoes made are often expensive, but it does not mean that these leather materials are very good in wearing fastness.
