Wet the snow boots with cold or warm water. But don't soak too much. It's very important not to use hot water for cleaning, because that will reduce the viscosity of the sole glue and damage the natural elasticity of the leather, which will cause the soles of snow boots to open and the body to shrink. The correct cleaning method is to use a clean sponge brush or soft brush to thoroughly and evenly brush the entire shoe surface. You can also use a fine bristled toothbrush to help with the cleaning process. Once the shoes are washed, put the snow boots into the washing machine and dry them for a few minutes to remove the excess water from the boots. Snow boots need to be placed to dry naturally. Remember not to use a dryer to dry them or expose them to the hot sun. When drying, please put the sole up and stand the whole shoe upside down. The shoes will be completely dried in a day or two. You will find that once the shoes have been completely dried, the shoes will shrink a little. Don't worry, this is a normal phenomenon. After wearing it for about an hour, the shoes will return to the warm and comfortable feeling they used to wear, and more importantly, the boots will become clean and beautiful! Clean boots after cleaning and drying can be combined with waterproof spray to enhance the water resistance of boots. Once the boots are fully cared for, you can use a special fluff care brush to gently brush the surface of the shoes in one direction to help restore the natural, beautiful and smooth texture of the natural fluff on the surface of the fluff leather.
If you follow the above correct care methods, the boots can maintain a service life of several years.
Precautions for cleaning snow boots
1. Never use water or detergent to clean it, because it will leave marks and lose its original luster.
2. It is recommended to brush the surface gently with a soft cloth or brush, and then wipe the whole surface with a special leather cleaner. Cleaners can be purchased from the market or prepared by ourselves. Preparation method: mix 4 parts of flaxseed oil, 18 parts of turpentine oil, 15 parts of yellow wax and 1 part of rosin, and stir evenly to make it into paste. When using, apply the paste on the leather and wipe it constantly until it shines.
3. For dirt that is difficult to remove, apply a small amount of special detergent to the thick part of the dirt and let it stand for a period of time, and then gently wipe it with a soft cloth. After drying, apply a layer of leather maintenance oil on the surface. Leather maintenance oil is available on the market and can also be prepared by yourself. When preparing, take 25 parts of granular linear polyurethane resin, 19.5 parts of xylene, 116.1 parts of acetone and 50 parts of ethylene glycol ether acetate, mix and stir evenly. The oil has ideal decorative properties, making leather shiny, wear-resistant, twists and turns resistant, solvent resistant, and has been widely used abroad.
If there is neither maintenance oil nor the above raw materials at home, leather jacket oil with the same color as leather can be used instead, and it can be evenly coated on all leather surfaces. If there is no colored leather jacket oil, colorless leather jacket oil can be used instead.
